How it works

291 people crowdfunded over £9,000 to bring Crystal Palace Library of Things to town. Crystal Palace Transition Town, Upper Norwood Library Hub and Library of Things partnered to make it happen.

Now, hundreds of local people are joining as borrowers, event participants and volunteers to make sure Crystal Palace Library of Things is here to stay. You're invited to join too!

  • Browse the inventory and choose what you want to borrow
  • Select the time & date that work for you
  • Pay with a debit or credit card to confirm the reservation

3. UNLOCK!

  • Visit Crystal Palace Library of Things at any time during opening hours on your reservation date
  • Enter your details on the iPad the borrowing kiosk and follow the instructions on the poster
  • Stuck? Ask a staff member for help if you need a hand

4. BORROW!

  • Enjoy the handy how-to guides and videos
  • Bring the Thing back with all its parts on the day it's due back – clean and ready for the next borrower
